Nike Has It Right – Just Do
It!
Marketing
is a hot topic in every entrepreneur's vocabulary. We read books, newsletters
and Internet sites, listen to podcasts, take courses, join membership
groups, and buy products, all with the intention of taking what we learn
and applying it to our business to build our success.
Problem is, only a fraction of us actually take what we
are learning and "DO IT." Most take notes and file them away,
or start to work on implementation and get hung up on "making it
perfect," never getting to the point of actually getting it done.
A good friend and mentor of mine, Alicia Forest, has a saying
that I love: "Done is better than perfect." Many of us have
a perfectionist tendency that really paralyzes the growth of our business.
I want to challenge you this week to list three attainable
marketing goals for the next two months. For example, you might:
- Post one article a week to 10 article directories
- Post two messages a week in a forum where your target market
hangs out
- Follow up with a personal note to two leads per week.
Just pick three that work for you, your business and your
goals that you can do beginning this week (even if they are not perfect),
and do them, consistently, for the next two months.
Watch and see the impact these three little goals, and the
fact that you DID them, has on how 2008 starts out for you and your business.
It's all about action!
RESOURCE: Joe's
Goals is a cool website where you can set and track your goals.
It's very user friendly, and may be just the tool you need to keep you
motivated. It's free, no download is needed, and you can share with a
friend if you are looking for that added accountability.
