From the Editor
To this generation of solopreneurs, business is also about finding meaningful
purpose in our work. However, wrong-fitting clients can become time and
energy vampires who quickly drain all joy and profitability from your
business. This week's article discusses the sense of working only with
your ideal client.
To your success!

Work with Ideal Clients and Leave
Stress for Someone Else to Deal With
Virtual Assistants are very well-versed in the wisdom of
working only with right-fitting clients. We know that the models for success
and profitability are different for small businesses, and especially solo
practices. You, as a fellow small business owner, can benefit from this
advice as well.
Think back on the last (let’s put it nicely) un-ideal client with
whom you worked. Were they extra needy and demanding? Did it seem like
they were never pleased no matter what? How much extra time did you spend
agonizing (and probably procrastinating) over their work, explaining or
requesting things for the hundredth time, and just overall dreading to
deal with that person at all?
Do you think that client was financially profitable for you? What about
emotionally? Time-wise?
Profit isn’t just about financial gain. To the current generation
of small and self-employed business owners, profit is also about what
is being earned in the way of efficiency, joyfulness and meaningful purpose
in work. You didn’t go into business for yourself so you could be
miserable and without time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, did you?
I didn’t think so.
Then choose to work only with ideal clients. When you fill your business
with ideal clients, you will make more money and your business will run
more smoothly. Ideal clients are more profitable because they don’t
create a “drag” in your systems and processes.
Business won't ever be without its challenges, but why make things more
difficult for yourself? If you work with your ideal clients, you will
be happier in your work and have more good days than bad. And nothing
beats the professional self-esteem you get exercising your skills for
those who are truly appreciative of your talents and efforts.
Your ideal clients—and your best life—are out there waiting
for you. Don't settle for anything less.

from solo business coach Terri Zwierzynski that expands on the idea of
ideal clients, why you want to work with them, and how to develop your
