Tis the Season to Give Yourself the Gift of Time
With the holiday season just around the corner, you are bound to be busier with more deadlines to meet than ever (both business and personal). Now is the perfect time to seek out a Virtual Assistant with the skills that will allow you more time for family and friends, as well as for getting the money-making tasks done that are important to your business. A Virtual Assistant can help you get your holidays organized. There's the card campaign, the gifts for family, friends and colleagues, and don't forget the vendors and customers. It's a lot of work. If you're like most business owners, you start dreading it as soon as Labor Day is over. A Virtual Assistant can get your contact database up-to-date and organized in a format that makes it easy to upload to the printer's website for your card campaign. She can catalog the gifts and cards you'll receive throughout the season and get thank-you notes out promptly; even making note so that these people are on your list for next year. Your Virtual Assistant can help plan an open house or other type of holiday party for your business, sending out invitations and collecting RSVPs. She can also buy gifts for you online, have them gift wrapped and delivered without you ever having to lift a finger, much less raise your stress level. Once the holidays are over and the thank-you cards are all sent, your need for your Virtual Assistant has not ended. In fact, the beauty of your relationship is just beginning. It's now the New Year and time to get your 2009 marketing plan and budget all laid out. If you do things the same way you did them last year, chances are you'll get similar results. That may not be a bad thing... but, if there's a chance to improve upon your bottom line from last year, isn't it completely worth the doing? Say your annual income is $100,000. That means that one hour of your business day is worth approx. $48.00. Now if you take that hour and do typical administrative tasks that are necessary in running your business but do not generate any income, you have just earned $48.00. However, if you took that one hour, outsourced those administrative tasks to your Virtual Assistant and then went out and met with two new potential clients... who knows how that could increase your bottom line! Make a list of all the administrative tasks that are repetitive, non-income producing, but completely necessary in your business. How many of those tasks could be outsourced to your Virtual Assistant? Now set up a plan and this becomes your new description of the skills that you need to look for when searching for the perfect Virtual Assistant for you. Starting the New Year off right with your Virtual Assistant already working with you will allow you to get ahead and prosper, rather than going back and playing catch up once the year is already started. Plan to get ahead in 2009 by utilizing the services of a professionally skilled and reputable Virtual Assistant such as those you'll find at the Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce. The Results Are In!
If you are a Virtual Assistant and didn't participate this year, we really encourage you to take part in the next survey. You will be contributing to the effort that is helping the industry grow AND you'll get a copy of the full survey results report once the survey period is over. Only those who participate get the full survey report at no charge. In the meantime, we offer an abridged version of the survey (about half) which gives some of the basic statistical data. Feel free to "take one down and pass it around." You may also publish the results contained in the survey highlights report as long as attribution is given to the VACOC.
