Virtual Assistants Hold Online Party Using GoToWebinar

An office party is a great way to build team spirit, recognize individual and group achievements, and boost morale overall. But what do you do if your group is scattered across seven countries and three continents?

TACOMA WA, March 20, 2007--The Virtual Assistance Chamber of Commerce (VACOC) knew exactly what to do--they held a virtual party using GoToWebinar. This volunteer-run professional association for Virtual Assistants (independent professionals who provide offsite administrative support services) hosted about 100 of its members online last December for an evening that included games, a gift exchange and a special slide presentation honoring the group's founder, Danielle Keister.

They even had a virtual buffet: Attendees ate at home and then described to the group what they were eating and drinking. (No need to worrya bout designated drivers!)

The idea to use GoToWebinar for the party came from Laura Lee Sparks, a Virtual Assistant who used GoToMeeting regularly with her clients, and is a self-proclaimed "raving fan" of the software.

Having tried another Web conferencing tool in the past, Keister was also impressed with the GoToWebinar technology. "It was wonderful--the difference between a Ford and a Maserati!"

The event was such a success that the group plans to hold another online party to celebrate the VACOC's first anniversary in April.
